New Mexico in the Civil War

    in Western Theatre

Does the community consider the war in New Mexico to be part of the Western Theatre or do we need a Trans-Mississippi area on the forum? Map of the boundaries west of Texas and east of California. Arizona Territory CSA (purple line)

I'd say West. What does everyone else think?

I’ve always considered there to be three theatres on land: the East amounting in reality to Virginia and the Atlantic Coast; the West being the Appalachians to the Mississippi; and the Trans-Mississippi being Texas, Arkansas, Missouri etc. The fourth theatre being the Bluewater war on the world’s oceans.
