Hey CWBC Friends,
I'm part of the Harrisburg Civil War Round Table. This Friday, we have Alan Guelzo as our speaker. His book on Gettysburg is fairly well known. This week he will be talking about Robert E. Lee. I thought the title of his presentation sounded pretty interesting, interesting enough to share. Zoom link found in the newsletter link.
Just a reminder that our Harrisburg CWRT May engagement will take place this Friday, May 21st at 6:45 pm on Zoom. The acclaimed historian and best-selling author Dr. Allen C. Guelzo, of Princeton University, will discuss "The Crime and Glory of Robert E. Lee." See our May newsletter for additional details:
Dr. Guelzo, who formerly served as Director of Civil War Era Studies at Gettysburg College, received multiple awards for his book, "Gettysburg: the Last Invasion," and served as commentator on CNN's original series, "Lincoln: Divided We Stand" last February. He will be presenting our annual Nye-Sommers Lecture, honoring the memory of two of our round table's most influential members, Colonel Wilbur S. Nye and Dr. Richard J. Sommers. He will give us a sneak preview of his new biography of Lee, which will be released this September.
