There was a lot written during the centenary and some of it was even good and there were even a few gems. For me one of those gems was The Blue and the Grey on the Nile (1961), the story of soldiers from both sides bringing their military and engineering skills to task, working together.

My brother in law gave me a Bruce Catton book that has three volumes in one. Mr Lincoln's Army. (1951) Glory Road.(1952) A Stillness at Appomattox.(1953) Quite the writer & very detailed with his works.
